Travel grants

Are there any travel grants planned for people from remote areas of the world? :) I am a new media developer from Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, and wish to attend the event, but the tickets are too expensive. If it is not possible, that's okay. I will bother the local Soros office then. :)

hi bektour,
right now we haven´t got enough funding to help you guys with the travel costs. But I´m sure that there are a lot of people/campers in Berlin who are able to help in the question of accomodation. We are going to inform you guys if we get an offer for lowering the ticket costs.
best, tobias

There is no such thing as an entry fee for the Barcamp Berlin 3! You do not need to purchase a ticket to attend.

Yes, I meant airplane tickets. :)

I know the idea of BarCamp, I was one of the core organizers of BarCamp Central Asia in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic. This is the website: www.barcampasia.net

I know how hard it is to find travel grants for everyone who wishes to get them, so... I'll try to find local sponsors to bring as many people from Central Asia as possible. Can I get any kind of official letter of invitation from organizers for local foundations and (if needed) for the local German Embassy to get a visa?

Guys, i'm from Kyrgyzstan too, and i'm eager to participate in BarCamp Berlin 3.

I have a proposal. Lets organize a "Souvenir Fair"! We will bring our local souvenirs: national earrings, different stuff maden of felt , postcards and etc.
We will share our culture, make you happy and cover our travel expenses :)

I was one of the main organizers of BarCamp Central Asia 2008. We've practiced such idea already and it was funny! ;)

And each country could organize it's own "Souvenir space"! What do you think?
